    Juan M. Arzuaga
    Executive Secretary

    Before joining IPLOCA in September 2008, Juan was already well known in the pipeline world as a former IPLOCA director for the Americas. He was previously President of Techint E&C Inc. in Canada and had worked with Techint in South America, Mexico and Canada in progressively senior roles from 1982. Juan is of Argentinian origin and speaks English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.

    The Executive Secretary is appointed by the Board and reports to the Board through the President and the Executive Committee. In this role, Juan provides vision and strategic management to ensure that IPLOCA’s direction and initiatives achieve the desired results.



    Caroline Caravellas
    Business Administrator

    Caroline Caravellas started with IPLOCA in January 2015. Of Irish extraction, she has lived much of her life in the Geneva region, with 10 years spent in the U.K. She has a strong marketing communications background, having worked for a variety of organisations including American Express, IMI Business School, London Stock Exchange, IATA, Chase Manhattan Private Bank and Loedstar. She speaks English, French and some German.

    As Business Administrator she is responsible for managing the day to day relationship of the IPLOCA Secretariat with the members of the Board, the media partners and the public in general. In this role she is also editor of the IPLOCA Newsletter.



    Caroline Green
    Membership & Convention Manager

    Caroline Green joined IPLOCA as Office Manager in April 2005 when the Association relocated to Geneva from Ghent, Belgium. She became Membership & Convention Manager in 2007. Caroline takes care of membership administration and as manager of IPLOCA’s Annual Convention, she is responsible for contract negotiation with suppliers, sponsorship, programme definition, registration and on-site coordination of events.

    Caroline has British and Swiss nationality and is bi-lingual English/French with a strong administrative background. Before joining IPLOCA, she worked for diverse organisations in Switzerland, including Caterpillar, Cinzano, the World Health Organisation and Collège du Léman private school.



    Sarah Junod
    Accounting Manager

    Before joining IPLOCA in January 2008, Sarah worked in a wide variety of companies including a freight forwarding agency, fiduciary services companies, and a parquet and veneer retailer. There, she acquired significant experience in administration and accounting. 

    Hired at IPLOCA to provide a wide range of support services, accounting and event management, Sarah was soon promoted to the position of Accounting Manager. Subsequently she was given additional responsibility for the coordination of the HSE Committee, including the organisation of workshops, the collection, analysis and publication of industry statistics, and the management of the Association's awards. She also helps with the administration of the website.

    A dual French/Swiss national, Sarah is bilingual (French/English), and represents the association in dealings with local authorities and administrations.



    Emma Hachfeld
    Administration & Convention Coordinator

    Emma Hachfeld first worked at IPLOCA in June 2013 as an intern for 6 months, as a part of her university degree. She then officially joined the Secretariat in August 2014, after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management from the Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne.

    Emma has Italian and German nationality and has grown up all around the world. She was born in Abu Dhabi and has lived in the Philippines, Singapore, Bahrain, London, Saudi Arabia and now in Switzerland. Emma is bi-lingual in English and Italian and speaks some French.

    Emma provides daily general support to the Secretariat ranging from producing Powerpoint presentations and administering the website through to working alongside the Convention Manager as the dedicated Convention Coordinator. Emma is also in charge of the Novel Construction Initiative and the Road to Success book.
