The Pipeline Technology Conference (PTC) is Europe's leading pipeline conference and exhibition on high-pressure pipeline systems. It offers opportunities for operators as well as technology and service providers to exchange latest onshore and offshore technologies and new developments supporting the energy strategies worldwide.
This year PTC was held from Monday 12 to Wednesday 14 March in Berlin and reached a record of 657 delegates from 54 different nations. For IPLOCA's first participation as an exhibitor, Sarah Junod, Grégoire de Montmollin and Daniel Gasquet were delighted to have a substantial number of member delegates visit the booth and share their experience within the association. IPLOCA's team also took advantage of the great opportunities offered by the exhibition, conference and social programme to make contact with potential members and speakers.
Daniel Gasquet, consultant for the Novel Construction Initiative, gave a presentation on Tuesday morning entitled "Fostering Innovation in the Pipeline Industry". During his speech, Daniel detailed initiatives launched by IPLOCA, with a particular emphasis on those from the HSE & CSR and Innovation Committees.
In addition, IPLOCA took advantage of this opportunity to hold the Novel Construction Initiative Spring Session the following days at the Mercure Hotel Berlin Tempelhof.
During this event, more than 90 contributors to the pipeline construction supply chain from all around the world gathered to discuss new technologies (a record!). They had the opportunity to listen to pipeline specialists and to share experiences and initiatives in working groups.
