Saving lives in the pipeline industry

Health & Safety Workshop (& Webcast)
Tuesday, 23th October 2018
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Geneva, Switzerland

Presentations and videos are available through this link

In spite of substantial efforts made by the pipeline industry in health and safety, IPLOCA members still reported 9 fatalities for 2017, most of them considered as being preventable by the IPLOCA HSE & CSR Committee.

Using members' experience and data, the 2018 workshop covered technical and organisational aspects of safety with a specific focus on fatal events reported.

The agenda for the meeting included international speakers from the industry. The afternoon group work focused on tools and strategies to save lives in the pipeline industry. It was followed by a dinner in a local restaurant.

The decision to organise last year's workshop in conjunction with the Novel Construction Initiative Fall Session proved to be successful so the same set up was repeated this year.

IPLOCA once again offered a webcast to those who could not attend. People who choose this option were able to watch most of the presentations live and submit questions in writing. To review the agenda, please click here.
