2019 Corporate Social Responsibility Award

The 2019 IPLOCA Corporate Social Responsibility Award, sponsored by Total, was presented during the Annual Convention held in Bangkok in recognition of an initiative aimed at improving the living conditions of the people in communities local to and impacted by pipeline industry work.

Sue Sljivic, IPLOCA HSE Committee Chair, made a presentation on the work of the HSE Committee and on the 2019 Corporate Social Responsibility Award sponsored by Total, in presence of Pascal Laroche, General Manager & Country Chair - Total Thailand.

The Adjudication Committee decided to present the Award to Ledcor Pipeline Limited, represented by Bill Partington in recognition of their "Making an Impact : Ledcor Pipeline" Fundraising is undertaken by employees and matched by the company to support projects to improve the quality of life by the people affected by pipeline construction.

 

The Adjudication Committee made this award for the following reasons:

  • It included commitment of time by employees
  • It shows global commitment to CSR
  • It is co-funded by employees
  • It is a continuous programme
  • It is targeted at local communities

In recognition of its members' commitment to social responsibility IPLOCA named two runners-up (in alphabetical order):

Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited, represented by Virendra Varshney, for the Construction of a dormitory for orphan girls in Mumbai, India, the judges particularly liked that it impacts a large group of people, the long lasting effect of the project, that it supports a vulnerable group of people, and addresses specific needs of local communities.

Tekfen, represented by Levent Kafkasli, for their Summer School Project and its effective local project, big impact with low cost, its possibility to be continued by the operator, and its investment in local people.
