Mastering tight timelines: CCC’s success with the Dunga Project
default

The Dunga Project in Kazakhstan presented a series of unique and demanding challenges that CCC tackled with expertise and determination. The scope of work included the construction of 18 wells along the F-H line, featuring oil and water trunklines, flowlines, and a pig launching area. The project included dismantling rigid GRE trunklines, originally part of an “Early Tie-In Scheme”, and seamlessly reconnecting them to a more flexible, reelable GRE trunkline system.

A key challenge was the project’s aggressive baseline schedule. This was further complicated by mobilising into a new area under extreme weather conditions to establish Site Facilities and camp. In parallel, CCC had to engage multiple construction subcontractors in alignment with stringent local content requirements. These initial conditions caused a lag between planned and actual progress. However, as subcontractors were fully mobilised and their operational efficiency improved, the project gained momentum and quickly closed the performance gap. CCC, drawing on its extensive pipeline experience, managed to overcome these hurdles through collaboration with the client and implementing a robust turnover strategy. Delivering the Dunga Project is a testament to CCC’s adaptability, technical strength, and commitment to achieving high-quality results under pressure.
