The 45th Annual IPLOCA Convention

China World Hotel, Beijing, China

The IPLOCA Convention is the annual gathering of the leading global players in the pipeline construction industry. The event takes place over 5 days and registration is restricted to IPLOCA Regular Members, Associate Members and their guests.

For the first time in its existence IPLOCA held its annual Convention in the People's Republic of China during the week of 12 to 16 September 2011.

The programme included tours to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and The Great Wall, as well as a visit to a silk factory. In addition to the popular golf and tennis tournaments, we also offered a Tai Chi lesson to attendees.

Many IPLOCA delegates also took the opportunity to partcipate in pre- and post-convention tours to see the famous Terracotta Warriors at Xi'an.

Thursday and Friday's Open General Meetings included a presentation on the Great Wall by independent historian David Spindler in addition to industry-specific presentations.

The IPLOCA Beijing Convention was followed by The 7th China International Pipeline Expo 2011.  The event was hosted by one of our Chinese members, China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP), and was supported by IPLOCA. The event took place from 17 to 19 September, and many IPLOCA Convention attendees attended.
