An introduction to the Construction Safety Research Alliance – CSRA
Housed at the University of Colorado, the Construction Safety Research Alliance (CSRA) brings together industry leaders and experienced scientists to focus on transformative construction safety research.
The CSRA is the only industry-funded research group focused exclusively on advancing the science of safety. The CSRA has approximately 50 member companies who represent oil and gas, electric power, infrastructure, commercial building, and many other industry sectors. Together, the Alliance has made great strides toward the elimination of serious injuries and fatalities by enhancing the science of safety.
In this presentation, Dr. Matthew Hallowell has provided a brief overview of how the Construction Safety Research Alliance has created a new model for collaborative safety research and development. He also highlighted three projects performed under this new model: the statistical invalidity of total recordable injury rate as a measure of safety performance, the introduction of quality-driven safety leading indicators, and new insights on predictive analytics.
Finally, Dr. Matthew Hallowell shared the advantages of the newly formed alliance with CSRA for IPLOCA members.
