The engineering and construction industry continuously faces risks and challenges that impact the business ability to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget. Failure to recognize and adequately manage risks whether corporate or project-specific is detrimental to the overall effective management of any project.

Zahi Ghantous, VP, Construction Support & Quality Management at CCC  shed light on key risks identified in the contracting business based on the company’s long track record of operations in different sectors of the industry and diverse locations around the world.  This presentation examined the identified internal and external risks arising from: global market conditions; contractual and commercial challenges; client and partner relations; technical challenges; and country and operational conditions, with a particular focus on the pipeline industry risks. The importance of risk management from a contractor’s perspective and the CCC know-how in managing those risks, was discussed with an emphasis on the overall industry recommendations based on acquired experience.
