The integrity management of mountain pipelines presents a great challenge, in addition to the most common dangers such as corrosion or third-party damage, there are also geohazards such as mountain river crossings, slope instability, erosion, seismic activity and the risk of volcanic eruptions that require specialized integrity management skills.

TGN has more than 20 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of high-pressure gas pipelines stretching across the Andes Mountains while taking into consideration the physiographic, geomorphological and climatic variations.

Martin Carnicero, Geotechnical Specialist at TGN shared his experience in the management of mountain pipelines and presented examples of projects completed by TGN over the years.
