Driving Continuous Improvement Through Innovation, Recognition and Collaboration

The HSE & CSR Committee met on 10 June to review and assess submissions for the 2025 Health & Safety, Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental and Quality Awards. Once again, the quality of the entries demonstrated the strong commitment of IPLOCA members to continuous improvement and operational excellence. Participating companies presented innovative ideas, practical solutions and outstanding achievements across a range of fields, highlighting initiatives that create tangible value for the industry, strengthen management commitment and deliver benefits to both companies and their workforce. The diversity and quality of the submissions reflected the industry’s determination to raise standards and share best practices. The Committee would like to extend its sincere thanks to all participating companies for their valuable contributions and to the Committee members for their dedicated efforts in reviewing and evaluating the entries. Award winners will be announced during the Annual Convention in Athens this September-October.

The Committee also reviewed the latest HSE-CSR Statistics submissions. Participation increased from 76% of Regular Members in April to 86% in June, reinforcing the importance of maintaining robust industry benchmarking data that will be published ahead of the Annual Convention.

Looking ahead, the Committee will reconvene by video conference in September and meet in person in Vienna in October. A major highlight will be the HSE & CSR Workshop on 28 October, which for the first time will be combined with the Novel Construction Session. This new format aims to foster greater collaboration and cross-functional learning by bringing together health, safety and construction innovation perspectives. The workshop will focus on the top five project risks and the critical controls that must be implemented before work begins. Through interactive group discussions, participants will analyze real challenges, exchange experiences and develop practical recommendations to improve health and safety performance across all working environments. More than a traditional presentation session, the workshop is designed to actively engage attendees and encourage the collective development of solutions that can be applied throughout the industry, supporting IPLOCA’s ongoing commitment to safer and more sustainable project delivery.

Finally, the Committee discussed strengthening the HSE & CSR Shared Experience Platform, which now hosts over 800 documents. To further enhance its value, summaries of newly uploaded content will be issued twice a year.
