The Engineering & Construction Risk Institute (ECRI)

ECRI was established in July 2005 as an initiative of the World Economic Forum and is now supported by 17 world-class Engineering & Construction companies. ECRI is an independent industry body involved in education with respect to the identification, management and implementation of sound Project Risk Practices in the Global E&C industry.

ECRI’s mission is to lead the transformation of the Industry, with the help of sponsors, in the entire area of Risk Awareness and Management. This applies to Project Risk, Portfolio and Programme Risk as well as Enterprise Risk, and is being accomplished through a full library of Best Practices, Sponsor Workshops, Special Interest Group Meetings, procedural Risk Reviews and the provision of Education & Training Courses for employees of Sponsors.

One of IPLOCA’s long term members, Consolidated Constractors Company, suggested that IPLOCA invite Jon Nield, CEO & President of the Engineering & Construction Risk Institute(“ECRI”) to introduce ECRI to IPLOCA members.
