Gascontrol Polska to build gas pipelines in northern Poland
Gascontrol Polska has recently secured two new projects involving the construction of natural gas transmission pipelines in northern Poland’s Pomerania province. Both are strategic investments executed by Gaz-System S.A. with the aim of strengthening Poland’s energy security.
The first one includes the construction of the MOP 8,4MPa DN1000 (40”) natural gas pipeline between Gdansk and Kolnik (POM1). As part of this project, Gascontrol Polska is responsible for the automated welding of a 35-km stretch of pipeline and the preparation of pipeline sections for trenchless crossings using HDD, Direct Pipe and microtunneling technologies. The second contract covers the construction of the MOP 8,4MPa DN1000 (40”) natural gas pipeline between Kolnik and Gardeja (POM2). The scope of work has been divided into two stages. The first includes the automated welding of a 23-km pipeline section and the preparation of pipelines for trenchless crossings.
The second phase includes the construction of associated pipeline infrastructure including a natural gas pressure reduction and measurement node in Kwidzyń with a capacity of Q=300 000 Nm3/H, a natural gas connection node in Kolnik, and the construction of three pipeline valve stations DN1000 MOP 8,4 MPa in Gardeja, Gogolewo and Mały Garc.
