Geocean mobilised in Tahiti for the renewal of Punaauia’s marine outfall
Geocean, a brand of VINCI Construction Grands Projets, is currently involved in Tahiti on a public contract awarded by SEM Vaitama for the construction of a new marine outfall linked to the Punaauia wastewater treatment plant. The project will replace the existing outfall, operational since 2002, with a new 1,400-metre-long HDPE pipeline (560 mm diameter).
This modern infrastructure will significantly improve wastewater discharge capacity while ensuring enhanced protection of the local marine environment.Offshore operations led by Geocean are scheduled to begin in August. These works are carefully planned to align with local weather conditions and are supported by robust safety and environmental oversight — including SPS coordination by Bureau Veritas and environmental monitoring by CREOCEAN. This project reflects the local authority’s commitment to modernising critical infrastructure. It reinforces Geocean’s ability to deliver turnkey offshore solutions in sensitive coastal settings, tailored to the needs of public clients.
