Jindal SAW Supplies Submerged Arc Welded Water Pipes to Saudi Arabia

Jindal SAW Ltd (JSL), India has been awarded a prestigious order for the supply of 80” X 20.62 mm HSAW linepipes from the new urban development area of NEOM, Saudi Arabia. NEOM is developing a ski resort in the mountains of Trajona and the water pumped by these pipes will be used for developing an artificial reservoir.

The total length of the pipeline is about 210 km. The pipes will be supplied in 18-meter lengths with both external 3LPE and internal Food Grade epoxy coating. The pipes will be manufactured at the company’s facility in Samaghogha, Mundra, India and the coating shall be done in-house. The delivery of these pipes will be undertaken in about 18 months and will involve shipping in at least 22 Supramax vessels to Port Duba, Western Saudi Arabia. The steel for this project is being procured from JSW, India an associate company. JSL has already completed manufacturing and delivery of about 110 km in nine shipments, well within contractual delivery schedule. The line laying is expected to start in early 2024.
