Techint Engineering & Construction Completes VMOS Project

Techint E&C, together with Sacde, completed the construction of the 437-kilometer Vaca Muerta Oil Sur (VMOS) pipeline in Río Negro, Argentina, after 15 months of work, delivering the project on schedule. At peak activity, the project mobilized more than 2,000 people.

Once operational, VMOS will enable the export of more than 550,000 barrels of crude oil per day from the Neuquén Basin. Meanwhile, the company continues developing Duplicar Norte, a 207-kilometer, 24-inch pipeline being built for Oleoductos del Valle (Oldelval) across the provinces of Neuquén and Río Negro. Approximately 114 of the nearly 160 planned special crossings have already been completed, while semi-automatic welding continues along the route toward a total of approximately 17,500 welded joints. The first phase of the project is expected to become operational by the end of 2026, with a transport capacity of 220,000 barrels per day. Once completed, Duplicar Norte will connect with VMOS, creating an integrated corridor to transport crude oil from Vaca Muerta to the Atlantic coast and further strengthening Argentina’s export infrastructure.
