MONTER Successfully Completes the H2-Ready Ajdovščina–Sežana Gas Pipeline
The construction of the DN400 Ajdovščina–Sežana H2-ready transmission gas pipeline in Slovenia, on demanding and very steep terrain, was completed ahead of schedule! After acquiring all required certificates and permits, the construction of the underground section of the M6 transmission pipeline route enables the transport of up to 100% hydrogen.
Among other works, the project included calibrating the section of the M6 pipeline from Ajdovščina to Sežana (which will become part of the future hydrogen pipeline), executing pressure testing on an 8.5 km continuous section, and installing pipes on a 65-degree slope with cableway assistance. We also laid a 500 m section on a 45-degree slope, which was the final long section of the pipeline route. From the undercrossing of the lyre beneath the Zali Potok watercourse and the existing DN500 gas pipeline, to installation on steep terrain, every meter required maximum precision, safety, and team coordination. The challenging environment particularly highlighted the quality of the engineering solutions and the field endurance of the employees, of whom we are very proud.
