SICIM Awarded Dedicated Gas Pipeline EPC – FLNG Project in Argentina

SICIM has secured its first project in Argentina, following the award of the Dedicated Gas Pipeline EPC – FLNG Project by Southern Energy (SESA), a consortium led by Pan American Energy and supported by YPF, Pampa Energía, Harbour Energy and Golar LNG. The contract has been awarded to UT SICIM VICTOR, a joint venture between SICIM and Argentinian contractor Victor Contreras S.A., with SICIM acting as lead partner.

The scope includes the engineering, procurement and construction of a 472 km, 36-inch gas pipeline connecting Tratayén, in Neuquén, to the San Matías Gulf on Argentina’s Atlantic coast, in Rio Negro Región. The pipeline will feed a new floating LNG facility dedicated to exporting natural gas to international markets. Once operational, the project will support the export of up to 6 million tonnes of LNG per year, with Europe expected to be one of the main destination markets. In addition to pipeline construction, the contract covers associated facilities and support during commissioning and start-up activities. Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2028. The award represents a significant milestone for SICIM and further strengthens the company’s presence in South America, where it has been active since 2011. The project is the first experience of Sicim in Argentina and reinforces SICIM’s position in the growing LNG sector, supporting the development of large-scale energy infrastructure projects that connect emerging gas resources with global markets.
