Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project Investment in Renewable Energy
Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP), with its solar energy investment programme, continues to support the settlements around Above Ground Installations (AGIs) along its route during the operation period.
With reference to TANAP’s Sustainability Year theme, the Kavakköy Solar Energy System Project was implemented with Kavakköy municipality in Gelibolu/Çanakkale (a population of approximately 1,900 people) near the TANAP MS3 Metering Station. Through 120 solar panels located on the roof of Kavakköy Belediyesi covered market place and with 50kW installed power, the aim is to produce approximately 94,000 kWh of energy annually and decrease the energy expenses of the municipality. In addition, the facility is connected to the national grid to transfer excess electricity.
TANAP is delighted to keep implementing such projects beneficial to the settlements around its AGIs and serving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
