TRIKAUSCH supplies advanced vacuum lifters for ductile iron pipes

As the exclusive dealer for Aerolift (Netherlands) in India since 2007, TRIKAUSCH has been a trusted supplier of vacuum handling systems for a wide range of oil and gas pipes—including seamless, spiral, and L-SAW pipes—across various diameters.

Aerolift’s vacuum lifters ensure exceptional safety and efficiency in pipe handling operations. Recently, TRIKAUSCH successfully completed a pilot project with one of its esteemed clients for the vacuum lifting of ductile iron (DI) pipes in India. DI pipes, typically used in underground potable water transmission and distribution systems, feature a spigot on one end and a socket on the other, with common diameters ranging from DN 80 to 1200 mm. This spigot-socket configuration presents a unique logistical challenge, especially during dispatch and transport from the manufacturing plant, where traditional methods involve labour intensive manual attachment using chains—posing significant safety risks.

The Aerolift vacuum lifting solution supplied by TRIKAUSCH is engineered with high precision and is capable of lifting up to eight pipes in a single cycle. Ongoing R&D aims to increase this capacity to 22 pipes per cycle. This customized vacuum solution allows operators to position the system directly over a layer of pipes for quick loading or unloading, all controlled remotely. This not only streamlines the process but also minimises manual labour, significantly reducing the risk of accidents and injuries during pipe handling.
