HENKEL – Project Spotlight: Supporting the BP Northern Endurance Partnership

We are proud to support the BP Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP), one of the UK’s most significant carbon capture and storage (CCS) infrastructure projects.

The Northern Endurance Partnership is developing a 145 km, 28-inch diameter CO₂ transportation pipeline that will play a key role in transporting captured carbon dioxide for permanent offshore storage beneath the North Sea. The project represents a collaboration between industry leaders BP, Eni, Equinor, Shell, TotalEnergies, and National Grid, reinforcing the industry’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and supporting the energy transition. Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) activities are being carried out by our client, with offshore installation being performed by the Castoro 10 (C10) pipelay vessel.

Henkel is proud to contribute to this landmark project by supplying the CANUSA GTS-PE Field Joint Coating System, together with our Liquid Epoxy solution, providing long-term corrosion protection for this critical pipeline infrastructure. A significant milestone was achieved with the successful Procedure Qualification Test (PQT), completed on 20 April 2026, validating the coating system ahead of offshore installation activities. As carbon capture projects continue to grow in importance worldwide, participation in flagship developments such as NEP demonstrates Henkel’s commitment to delivering innovative corrosion protection solutions that support the global transition to a lower-carbon future. We look forward to seeing the successful execution of the Castoro 10 vessel campaign and continuing to support our customers on this pioneering project.
