SACDE and Techint Successfully Completed President Néstor Kirchner Pipeline

SACDE and Techint Engineering & Construction (50%-50% JV), have successfully completed the construction of sections 1 and 2 of the President Néstor Kirchner Pipeline, in Argentina, starting the operation stage in July 2023, as planned.

The project of 573 km in 36” transports the natural gas produced in Vaca Muerta formation, the second largest unconventional reserve in the world according to EIA, to the industrial and populated areas in Buenos Aires Province. The construction of these sections of 36” gas pipeline of 446 km (277 mi) long, involved an HDD crossing of the Colorado River, more than 200 additional crossings, 13 primary block valves, scraper traps and 2 metering stations. To achieve these goals in only 10 months, the JV had to perform a production average of more than 4.5 km (2.8 mi) per day, using two spreads of automatic welding, plus 9,000 m (10,000 yd) per day of lowering and backfilling, a work force of 4,000 people and more than 1,500 construction equipment.
