TECHINT E&C advances crude oil pipeline infrastructure in Argentina
Techint Engineering & Construction is advancing the construction of key crude oil pipeline infrastructure in Argentina, supporting the development of Vaca Muerta and strengthening evacuation capacity toward export markets.
A major milestone is the Duplicar Norte project, a 209-kilometre, 24-inch pipeline being built for Oleoductos del Valle (Oldelval) across the provinces of Neuquén and Río Negro. The project is progressing ahead of schedule, with the double-joint plant in operation since 1 March and special crossings currently underway. Once operational, the pipeline is expected to reach an initial transport capacity of 220,000 barrels per day by the end of 2026. In parallel, Techint E&C is also executing the construction of the Vaca Muerta Oil Sur (VMOS) pipeline, a 437-kilometre, 30-inch project developed through a the joint venture Techint – Sacde. The project recently completed the crossing of the Río Negro using horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and is designed to reach an initial capacity of 180,000 barrels per day by the end of 2026.
