Montanuniversität Leoben Launches a New MSc Study Track in Pipeline Engineering
The Technical University of Leoben (Montanuniversität Leoben) in Austria is expanding its educational portfolio with the introduction of a new Pipeline Engineering study track within the MSc in Geoenergy Engineering, starting in October 2026.
The new study track has been developed in close cooperation with leading pipeline operators, engineering companies, and industry experts to meet the growing global demand for highly qualified pipeline engineers. The curriculum combines advanced Geoenergy Engineering education with specialized courses in pipeline design, construction, operation, integrity management, digitalization, and the transportation of natural gas, hydrogen, CO₂, and other energy carriers.
Alongside the MSc programme, Montanuniversität Leoben will also offer a Professional Certification Program in Pipeline Engineering, providing flexible continuing education opportunities for engineers and industry professionals. The professional programme consists of 12 specialized modules, which can be taken individually as Micro-Credentials or completed as a full certification programme. Both programmes will commence together, creating a comprehensive educational pathway for students and professionals alike.
