UAB DS1 finishes Tuzla-Podisor Pipeline in Romania ahead of schedule
In April 2025, DS1 successfully completed its work on a key section of the 308 km Transgaz Tuzla–Podișor pipeline project in Romania. The completed section covers 73 km and includes 40″ and 48″ diameter gas lines – an essential addition to Romania’s energy system and cross-border infrastructure.
Working under main contractor Kalyon, DS1 performed over 6,000 welds using both automatic and manual methods. With three CRC-Evans automatic welding cabins on the 40″ line, the team reached up to 75 welds per day, consistently meeting high safety and quality standards. The scope also included pipe bending, field joint coating, and lowering-in across varied and sometimes challenging terrain. DS1’s team worked through extreme conditions – from -25°C in winter to +45°C in summer – demonstrating adaptability and resilience throughout the project. Mobilizing in January 2024, DS1 finished the full scope two months ahead of the planned June 2025 deadline.
Alongside its own works, DS1 also provided critical support to neighbouring Lots, helping them remain on schedule. This early and successful delivery highlights DS1’s capabilities in large-scale pipeline construction – driven by skilled teams, modern technology, and effective project execution across Europe.
