Worley selected for engineering services and final cost estimate for Alaska LNG Pipeline
Worley has been selected by Glenfarne Alaska LNG to provide engineering services and a final cost estimate for the Alaska LNG Pipeline. The pipeline forms part of Glenfarne’s broader Alaska LNG development, which includes a proposed 1300-km (807-mile) natural gas pipeline from the North Slope to the southern coast near Anchorage, a gas treatment plant, an LNG import terminal, and an LNG export facility.
The pipeline will be capable of transporting enough natural gas to meet both Alaska’s domestic needs and fully supply the 20 million tonnes per annum Alaska LNG export facility. Worley will supplement previously completed engineering and provide sufficient design and cost detail to support the project’s FID (Final Investment Decision), which is anticipated in late 2025. Worley has also been appointed project delivery advisor to Glenfarne across the Alaska LNG portfolio. “We are proud to support Glenfarne in progressing this strategically significant energy infrastructure. Our history in Alaska spans more than 60 years, and this project aligns with our full project delivery capability. We look forward to helping Glenfarne move toward FID and improve energy security for Alaska and the world,” said Chris Ashton, Chief Executive Officer at Worley.
