Vacuworx lifters handling installation of large-diameter pipe in Chile

Bonatti and Sigdo Koppers have been contracted to construct a major pipeline at the Centinela Mine to support mining operations in Chile. The project involves the construction of a 144 km pipeline that transports seawater from the Port of Mejillones onward to the Centinela Mine.

To handle the installation of large-diameter pipe along this route, MCI, an authorized Vacuworx dealer, is supporting the effort with four Vacuworx lifting systems on rental. This includes three RC10 units and one RC20, all specially outfitted with pads ranging from 30–42 inches in diameter. The Vacuworx lifters are on-site for approximately six months, providing a safer, more efficient method for handling heavy pipe across rugged terrain and long distances.
